I hate yelp!
Had a psycho bad night at work on sunday night and this jackass decided he HAD to write about it on yelp! Glad to say-Matt my manager hates yelp too and wrote them that this is why we workers hate yelp. I wonder if this guy ever has a bad day? and it sure does not take much to scare him!
I think EVERYONE should have to waiter for at least 6 months in their life. They would be forever changed!

Well, when part of your dining experience involves being terrified of your server, you know you are at least in for an experience.
When my girlfriend mentioned to me and her Pop that the fried bananas were well reviewed here on yelp, our server overheard that and said "Oh God, I hate yelp." One other thing she hates, her job. And she wasn't shy about letting anyone know. She warmed up by the end meal and thanks God the food was good or else, I may never come back.
The mexican corn on the cob was awesome and so was the habanero cream salsa and chips.
The rest of the reviews on here sum the rest, but as for me our server clearly defined our experience here at Malo.

Oh man, I hate yelp too! And to quote someone I love, "what a drag!" You're the best julie, give 'em hell.
I just went through the process of complaining to yelp about a "review" left about my workplace, where the reviewer called the girl bartenders bitchy and said she wanted to pull our eyelashes out. With no example of a specific offense. I'm waiting to see what yelp's response will be, that is, if they support physical threat to workers in their reviews. It was from one of their "elite," to make matters, well, the same.
Really pissed I had to join to complain and to contact the reviewer. I don't want to be included in their statistics of increased membership.
I've been reading a lot about how businesses hate yelp. I agree that it doesn't give businesses any justice. A better solution is to allow the businesses engage their customers. For example, if a customer had a bad experience, he or she can post it on a board or thread for the business to see. The business can now reply back to the same thread and understand what their customers want.
That's why we've been working on a customer service site called feedbackjar.com to alleviate this problem.
After fighting fruitlessly with Yelp for several months, I finally gave up. All I wanted them to do was remove ONE review of my business... not because it was negative (it actually wasn't) but because it was inaccurate, and I gave them proof of the inaccuracy.
During the course of this exchange, Yelp deleted my account three times and blocked the IP address for my work computer.
Basically what it comes down to is this: Yelp does not care that business have no recourse. Unless, of course, that business is a YELP SPONSOR. If you're a Yelp Sponsor, you LITERALLY just have to make a telephone call and Yelp will remove any review you want them to remove.
I thought about becoming one myself, but I refuse to give money to those bastards.

I completely agree and understand. I joined Yelp to check on my boss's reviews and post a few local ones of my own. My boss has 13 reviews of his business, only ONE of them wasn't filtered and it's about some idiot raving about having a dead man's bones in his mouth (crazy lies, to say the least). I posted a few honest positive reviews to other businesses- ALL of which were filtered. My vet has no reviews, and they took down my positive one.. I will proudly join y'all in saying- I Hate Yelp.
